"Moretolaw: career and lifestyle options - by lawyers, for lawyers "
Read our mission statement and our commitment to being independent.

Welcome to Moretorecruitment! The aim of this section is to provide more information about recruitment consultants and the first ever lawyer recommendations of individual recruitment consultants.
Ever been called by a recruitment consultant who doesn’t seem to know his A&O from his Olswang?
It seems that the answer is 'yes', following considerable response to this question as posed in the pilot edition of Moretolaw. Our experience is that lawyers are suspicious of recruitment consultants and their motives. The feedback so far bears this out.
In reviewing recruitment consultants, our aims are as follows:
(1) To provide more factual information on who they are, what they do and how they differ from other recruitment consultants. In particular, we are interested in their size, the nature of their coverage and their approach. They are all quite different and we think that lawyers need to know more about that in order to use them effectively.
(2) To provide readers' recommendations of individual recruitment consultants. We think that criticising or recommending an entire firm of consultants is meaningless. The quality of recruitment consultants can vary considerably within each particular consultancy. Only a personal recommendation of an individual consultant has any real value. If readers tell us who they would recommend than we will put those recommendations on the site.
You can read our reviews and recommendations so far here:
Recruitment Consultant Reviews and Recommendations
Of course, the fact that we are recommending (or not) recruitment consultants and also providing them with advertising opportunities on the site means there is a potential conflict. We want Moretolaw to be as transparent as possible and you can read more about the nature of our reviews and our commitment to being independent here.
Get in touch and share with us your experiences of recruitment consultants. Your anonymity and privacy are of utmost importance to us (read our privacy policy here).
We want to get lawyers to use recruitment consultants as effectively as possible, in order to progess lawyers' legal lives and make happy lawyers (yay). We are, therefore, going to run occassional features about the recruitment consultant phenomenon, what they do, how it works, and how to get the best out of the whole process. First up, read our recruitment consultants FAQs in order better to understand what they do and how it all works:
We are also working with recruitment consultants to bring you the very special mtl jobs sections which will pull out for you all those legal jobs which offer a great work/life balance and also non-law jobs for lawyers.
We are in the process of meeting with all the major legal recruitment consultants in the UK and we are already finding out a lot more about how they work and how lawyers can get the best out of them. The response so far from recruitment consultants themselves has been mixed. You can read more about that here.
